Twisp Fish Trap Weir

The Twisp River Fish Trap Weir is a hydraulically raised and lowered plastic " fence " placed across the Twisp River near Twisp, WA. When raised, the fence directs salmon and steelhead returning to upstream spawning grounds into a trap where they can be gathered for fish hatchery purposes or released.

Lund Engineering, working with Jacobs Civil for Douglas County PUD, worked on the vegetable oil based hydraulic system, electrical controls and hydraulic actuators which must operate in the very harsh river environment.
